#4971 IMPACT OF RAMADAN FASTING ON NUTRITION, INFLAMMATION AND DIALYSIS ADEQUACY AMONG HEMODIALYSIS PATIENTS

Abstract Background and Aims There is a paucity of data concerning safety fasting in Ramadan End stage kidney disease patients (ESKD) on haemodialysis (HD). The aim the present study was to assess possible effect nutritional status (clinical, biochemical variables), inflammatory adequacy haemodialysis. This observational carried out during 2022 when duration around 14 hours. Method Sixty-five suffered from ESKD who received regular HD for more than six months dialysis unit, urology nephrology center Mansoura university were included this prospective study. Patients categorized into three groups. 21 fasted all days Ramadan,25 other session 19 never. We did not oblige our patient fast. assessed clinically by Anthropometric measurements including body weight, BMI, triceps skin fold thickness (TSF) estimation protein catabolic rate (PCR) measured, laboratory serum Albumin, cholesterol blood glucose. Neutrophils lymphocytes ratio (NLR), Soluble receptor advanced glycation end product(SRAGE) human B-cell lymphoma/leukemia2 (BCL2) measured as markers, also determined with urea reduction (URR) KT/V. Assessment before after month repeated 3 patients. Results In 30 group: there significant reductions (all P < .02), albumin, thickness, Subjective global assessment score (SGA) markers neutrophils (NLR) Bcell (BCL2).
